L3200HST
Well, after looking high and low for a used Landpride RCR 1860, I found one on CL. The seller purchased a used L3200HST at auction and the cutter came with it. He had no use for it. The pictures looked good, and after talking to the seller it sounded like a good deal. So off I went on a 3 hour drive on my day off! It was a good thing, because the cutter did look new as the seller promised. I paid the $1000 he was asking and off I went. Haven't tried it out yet but I will this Wednesday. I am happy and so is my wife. She is tired of me spending hours on my computer looking at cutters. My question is what should I check for before I run this cutter? I'm gonna check the gear oil for sure. But is there any other things I should check? He lifted it up so I could look at the blades before we loaded it and they looked great and spun freely. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks. Here's a few pics.

Very nice, and remember if it looks that good after a few hours use you're not using it!

Yes and check your gearbox oil (80/90) and don't overfill. Looks like a real good deal , nice clean unit.

Congratulations on a nice cutter at a great price. I have the 6 foot model. Check the oil and grease your U joints and the tail wheel. It probably has a 1/2 inch bolt for a sheer pin. Get a few extra, you never know when you will hit something and snap the bolt. Keep the tools to replace it while you are out in the field so you can keep on mowing. Spin the blades and make sure they are not caught up on each other. Sometimes that happens and you have to use a hammer to beat them apart. I found the tail wheel brackets to be kind of weak and bent mine, bought another and bent it right away. I ran it with the bent bracket for awhile, but it dug up the ground so bad that I bought a bigger wheel and bracket for it and through away the original stuff. Landpride has a pretty good website with part numbers for when you break something. My local Kubota dealer has always been fast at getting the parts at a fair price. It helps to look up the part number before you go there as they are sometimes slow at finding it while you stand around waiting.

Thanks Happy. It will get a lot of use this week. I'm still gonna try to clean it regularly to keep that new shine look though.:D

Thanks Tomseller. I will grease the joints and wheel today as well as check the gearbox.

The tractor the seller bought had 24 hours on it so I doubt this thing had more that half that on it. It looks like it was used to cut grass once. Good score for me.
Thanks everyone.

Thanks Eddie. I have another question for you guys. The chain and plastic ring it is attached to on the guard that is on the PTO side has come undone. I cannot figure how this hooks back in. It appears to be missing some clips if it is supposed to look like the one on the mower side. I can't find anything on youtube or the manual. Can someone tell me how this reconnects?
Thanks

Thanks Bullbreaker. Is this 80/90 something I can pick up at an auto supply?
Thanks
