Land Pride RCR1260

I've been looking for a field mower for my L2501 for a few months and have a line on a used Land Pride RCR1260 which is a couple hours away. Pictures look ok, but there may have been a rock or something hit from the underside as the paint is cracked. New they look to be in the $1,500 range (quick look at tractor house). Would $800 be a reasonable offer?

You can start low (800) but it depends on how bad they want to sell it . General rule of thumb 5 pto hp for every foot of cutter . Try it out first on his or your own tractor to make sure its all good. Paint looks kike its peeling off but no big deal to touch it up. Shear bolt or slip clutch?
