Land Pride FDR1672

That spec. just doesn't sound right to me. I could understand a max of around 40-45 PTO HP, but 30 engine HP is pretty low for a 72" mower.

Kinda what I was thinking but I'm really new to this. It seems like a nice mower otherwise.

The LP owners manual is consistent with those ratings. Technically, warranty could be denied if it's used on a tractor that is larger.
Our 72" Phoenix mowers are rated at 30-50 PTO hp which seems more fitting.
I'm pretty confident that the LP mowers are made in Italy(or elsewhere) and rebranded as Land Pride.

I have had an FDR1672 since 2000 and beat it relentlessly as a brush mower (with old blades) and a finish mower (with nice blades).
It is a very tough durable unit. Other than grease and new blades, occasional gearbox oil change I have had NO issues with it. Oh the tires dry rotted so I replaced them.

My tractor of choice is 26 hp but have tried it behind my new L3940 Krapota. The 39 hp bogs down in tall grass so I wouldn't think you could hurt this thing with more power. Sometimes I get it stuck on a stump and the belt squeals and stinks and the blades stop turning but I still have the original belt on it, yup 13 years old and on my 5th set of blades and original belt.
Anything Landpride has been outstanding quality for me and trouble free. I would buy again with zero concerns. I say go for it.

I was looking at your mowers and really like them and they seem comperable to the LP but a question I have is this. The LP shows a weight of 619# and yours comes in at 490#. Where's the 129# difference?

It's hard to tell. Some mfgs publish shipping weights, but i'm not sure if that's the case with LP. I looked at past shipping bills for the Phoenix and they're consistently over 600 pounds.
LP says it has a 3/16"(.1875) deck thickness and the Phoenix is 4mm(.15748) so there's not much difference there.

Yea. Looking at both closely, of course they're pictures on the internet, I really can't tell much difference in the two. By the way, your videos are great! I have learned a lot from them.

Thanks for the information. I doubt I'll be very hard on a mower. Just keeping about 5 acres of old hayfield mowed down into a yard. Looking at the EA Phoenix model also. It is rated for a tractor my size.
