I have a Land Pride Category II Quick Hitch (QH20) on order. In preparation, I have been looking at the Quick-Hitch Operator's Manual from Land Prides website.

As I am reading the implement setup (page 8), I see there are some bushings needed for the lower hitch pins. For implement that have fixed pins sticking out the sides, there are bushings that come with the quick hitch. For implements that have clevis pins that slide through holes, there are "spacer tube" bushins that you have to purchase.

My questions are:

Why bushings? Are the category ii quick hitch's lower hooks bigger than category ii pins?

On Land Pride implements that say "quick hitch ready", what does that mean? Does it mean they come with the necessary bushings? I'm not sure what else it could mean... since the quick hitch can theoretically connect to any implement -- even though the implement knows nothing about the quick-hitch.

The Operator's Manual basically says you have to buy more bushings for your other implements. I'm trying to find out if I have to buy some more bushings for other Land Pride implements I have on order (should be here in a couple of days)... or if they will come with the necessary bushings since they are "quick hitch ready".

I figured it out...

For those that are interested, Land Pride's Quick Hitches' lower hooks are Category III size. I'm not sure why they decided to do this -- I doubt it was so you can connect cat III implements. Anyway, for the Cat I quick hitch you need Category I to Category III bushings. For the Cat II quick hitch you need Category II to Category III bushings. (This is all for the lower links.)

Sounds like to me Land Pride wanted to make the hooks bigger and wanted to require the use of bushings. Category III "size" was probably logical because those bushings would be more common?

Anyway, packaged with the quick hitch is one set of flanged bushings. If you want to setup other implements for the quick hitch, you must buy more bushings and install them on the implement's lower hitch pins.
