I recently bought a Land Pride CA48 lawn aerator. It seems to be well made and should last me a long time. The first thing to do was add weight to it.I made up half inch plates with pipes welded to them and bolted these to the trays. This allows me to adjust the weight as needed. The plates and pipes weigh just over 120 pounds and I added 240 pounds of weights .This is about 360 pounds added which is under the recommended 400 pounds max. With the weight of the aerator the total is about 510 pounds which is plenty for my BX 2360.Any more weight on the back would require counter weight on the front.I didn't care for the universal pins that came with the aerator so I had some one piece pins machined out.One other modification was to make up new support stands with casters on them to allow me to move the aerator around the garage, which makes life a little easier.I also added a couple of photos of the adjustable links I made up for the TPH of the BX.I remember seeing someone else on TBN making these as well.I find them to be a definite improvement over the factory turnbuckles.I haven't been able to use the aerator as we are going through a very dry spell but it will be ready to go in the fall when we hopefully get some rain.

I would love to have one of those for my bx. How much do they run? Nice telescopic stabilizers.

Wow, very nice. Can you tell me how much that goes for?

With the tax we pay the aerator was just over 1400 dollars. The total cost to me with the weights and casters was about 1800 dollars.

Nice job on the aerator, I have the same one but mine has steel mesh instead of solid sheet steel to set weight on. Just curious about your adjustable links, what parts from which machine did you use to make em or did you fab everything yourself?

The aerator has steel mesh as well,I just cut half inch plates to fit over it and bolted them to the frame around the mesh. The links were made from scratch but I used the ones off my 3240 as a pattern.

Will you take orders for a few more sets? :D Kubota should offer something like that as an accessory.

Wrooster, thanks for the compliment.I know it depends on the moisture in the soil but do you find the blocks to be plenty heavy?I have never used a plug aerator so I will have to play with the amount of weight when I use it.That is why I used the weights,it is easy to adjust them.Have you found much difference in your lawn since aerating? From what I have read it is supposed to be one of the most important things you can do for it.

I don't think Kubota offers them but I wonder if BXpanded does.If not maybe it could become a new product for them.
