Husqvarna YTH150
Hi Gang:
Point me in a direction, here, please:
I recently changed the drive belt on my Husky YTH150 lawn tractor. I had hardly any power on the slopes that are on my yard.

I replaced the drive belt and seem to be about right where I was before, with a serious lack of drive power on hills, I seem fine on the flats.

Keep in mind the tractor is in good shape, I maintain it, engine is running well, etc. I'm stumped.
My book suggests changing the belt, or bleeding air out of the transmission.
(I have not bled the transmission)

Any other thoughts?

Maybe brake brake grabbing.
Does the transmission have filter,if so last time change.
Does transmission have rod w/two settings..dis engage to push tractor by hand/engage tractor moves on its own.

i have the same problem i have the 48 inch model YTH2348, this mower is only about 1 1/2 years old and has 111 hours, its been a lot of problems and headaches.. but this is the worse of the problems.
it wont go forward, will go reverse to a point then will go forward for a little bit, but refuses to go up any kind of incline. the transaxle fan seems to be working, there are no fluid leaks that i can find, and the rod is engaged for the tractor to move its self... any help would be great

my book also says bleed the transaxle but i cant find where it say how to do this...?

There was a problem a year or two ago with some of the mowers, I believe the yth2348 was one of them. The rod on the rocker pedal was not the correct lenght, limiting forward travel speed. I believe Husqvarna had a recall on that item since it was not adjustable.
I'm going off of memory from when I was mower shopping, but believe that is your problem.

I have checked the linkage rods, they look ok, the problem im having is that it worked fine for about 1.5 years and now all of a sudden its not moving. is it that the linkage became "unadjusted" or were they not right from the beginning?

i would sure appreciate any help in what to be looking for to correct this problem.

does any one know any thing about purging the transaxle?

As I understand the problem was that the welded and un-adjustable rod was too short and did not properly engage the transmission. The correction was to replace the rod that went from the rocker pedal to the transmission.
I ended up going with the yth20K46 for this reason and also wanted a much simpler mower without the electronics involved with the other mowers.

ill look at the rocker linkage and see if extending the rod will do anything, any one else got any ideas on this problem????

The hydro transmission could be a problem. Get the model number of it and manufacturer. You can call them on it too.

It sounds like your hydrostatic transmission has failed as mine and many others have.
