Kubota B7610
I have narrowed my search down to a Kubota B7510 or B7610. My dealer has quoted me what seems to be the going price. He has both units in stock. Both have a 60"MMM and a LA302FL-1 loader. I received a post that made me question whether you can use that loader on the B7610, so I checked the Kubota web site. It does not list the LA302FL-1 for a B7610. It lists the LA352FL-1. Can you use the LA302FL-1 on a B7610? Also I am torn on the price. The B7610 is $1000.00 more. Is it worth it? I only have 3 acres to take care of and will be using it to mow as well as some of the other stuff we all like to do. Do I even need the extra power? I would like to know how some people with these tractors like them.

In my literature it shows the LA502 and LA352 loaders for the B7610. The LA352 has approx. 150# lift capacity at the pivot pin. I have been considering a B7510. At our dealer it's only about $300 more for the B7610 but with the larger loader it brings it up to approx. $1000. I have 2 1/2 acres and I think the B7510 will cover the work I want to do. I have to make a decision by Friday. Good luck, from the posts I have read they are both very good tractors.

I don't understand your numbers....

I checked the literature again. I made a mistake. The loaders available for the B7610 are the LA302 and LA352. The pivot lift capacity is at the bucket. The LA352 is a stronger loader.
Sorry for the confusion.

Yes, I beleive the 302 is useable on the7610. The 7610 is the "standard" version of the "deluxe" 2410. My information says both the 302 and 352 can be used, however, the 352 is a stronger loader and worth the extra cost in my opinion. I don't think the 352 can be used on the 7500/7510--could be wrong. I just bought a B7610 with the 352 loader. My dealer quoted me the price for the 302 and then at the last minute before he sent the workorder to the shop changed it. Although, the price difference was $1000 between the two. I looked for a long time (about 3 months) and I opted for more HP. I have a few more acres to take care of then you do. I only have a little over 7 hours on it but already have cut the grass and used the loader. When I was looking I am glad that I got the 352. It is only 2 inches bigger but IT just looks a lot bigger. The boom cylinders are bigger and the lift and breakout force is about 200 pounds more.

In my opinion go with the biggest loader you can get for the tractor.

My dad has green and his loader is even bigger than mine is. But not much! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Changing the subject a little but you said you have used it to mow. I intend to mow with it and I have seen some posts that have me concerned about the 60"MMM for the B7610 because it rides on the ground instead of floating. How did you like the way it cuts?

Well, I liked it well enough. I did find out that if you slow down a little bit then it has a much better cut than if you are trying to be the speed demon. What I have been told is that you must adjust the deck before you begin. Even though, the dealer set it up for me, when I got the manual out after I got it home with the tractor right in front of me I noticed that it was not adjusted as it should have been for the height that I wanted to cut. In fact it was adjusted so that it would cut lopsided.

I also think that it does a better or smoother job cutting shorter grass. I had let a few of my areas of yard grow too high before I got to cut it with MY TRACTOR. But I am pleased with it. Over the next few weeks or so I will have to do some tree trimming so that the ROPS will make it under the limbs and I will be able to get closer to the trees. But that just means more outside work. And another project for the yard. Funny how those can add up.

hi maxtractor -

Well I re-mounted my 54" MMM today for the first time since delivery - and took my first passes at mowing. While my old lawn tractor probably does a *slightly* cleaner mowing job - it easily took twice the time!

As my primary need for my CUT was to replace the aging lawn tractor - mow quality was a concern - but after my brief first mow - I must say I'm quite happy. My wife asked: are you done already? Yup! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif BTW - the handling *feels* dramatically different with the FEL off - *nimble* doesn't sound right for a 1400# CUT - but she handles effortlessly!

*******************

I specifically chose the B7610 BECAUSE it offered the LA352 FEL - and the B7510 did not. I have already lifted / pushed / dragged some fairly big rocks / logs - wondered if the smaller 302 would have handled them - and knew that the extra for the CUT / loader was worth it.

That being said - I'll probably finish most of my *heavy* tasks in the first 2-3 years of ownership - so long term - I'll be mostly using the MMM.

Hope that helps with your decision. In a nutshell: if your ongoing loader work will continue in significant amounts (ex. > 20 - 30 % of planned use) - then I'd argue the extra for the bigger CUT / FEL would be worth it. In my case it was an "insurance" against the unexpected. (ie BIG buried rocks!)

Good luck deciding!

Dan

PS - even had the wife experiencing some *pucker factor* when dragging out a small stump today! She's slowly developing quite an appreciation for all we have and can accomplish with our CUT.

Thanks for your comments. I do not have any real heavy FEL work planned. Most of what I want it for will not tax the LA302 FEL but you never know what you might end up doing with it down the road. I see you have a 54" MMM. Why 54" instead of the 60"? What did you mow with before? I am really struggling with this decison. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif It is a lot of money and I will probably keep it for a long time so, I don't want to buy the wrong equipment. I have even started wondering if I should step back to a subcompact because the posts seem to indicate they are better at mowing and although I will do other things with it, when push comes to shove it will get the most hours mowing. I can use all the advise I can get.
