L5030 What is your opinion?

I am about to buy a new tractor. I have seen a couple of L5030s with the HST for sale. Does anybody have feedback on the quality of these? Thanks

I have one. Although I have only 80ish hours on it, I haven't found anything it can't do. I have plowed virgin ground, mowed with a rotary mower, logging, and did countless stuff with the loader and it has never gave me a problem with any of them. I even just recently lifted a 300 gallon concrete septic tank off a trailer and set it into a new hole, that was a maximum load for it but it was a great test also. There are many that look at HST as a problem (geared tractor owners for the most part)...My answer is until you own one/used one you really have no say. I have owned mulitple gear units from Massey Harris, John Deere, Ford and can tell you that since I bought my 1st HST I will never go back, it's way too smooth & convenient.

My L5030 has 1050 hours. Other than almost burning it up in a brush fire, I haven't a single complaint (and clearly that's my problem, not the tractors!). I pull a 6' rototiller. and a 7' rotary mower without any problems at all. On the front I use a Bodozer grapple and have lifted oak logs that I think weigh over 1800 lbs, but I can't confirm the log weights. Tractor starts easily and is extremely easy to use with the HST.

Mine is 5 years old with 1800 hrs. This has been an excellent workhorse, I think the quality is great. Love the HST.
