Rear wheels on my L4701 were left narrow due to a couple of clearance issues on our property. Dealer made it quite clear (and manual seems to agree) they are adjustable on the 4701 even with the R4’s. Those clearance issues have been addressed so I’m thinking about adjusting them out. Running the 17.5 -24 R4’s loaded. My brother has a 1500lb capacity wheel dolly mostly to deal with tractor and large truck tires that I can use to handle them. I’m aware they are probably around 700 to 800lb each loaded so I wouldn’t even think about doing this without the dolly. The rims clamp on the center and the manual makes it look like you just support the back of the tractor, remove the clamps, slide them out where you want them, and reinstall the clamps. I may be overthinking it but that just seems too easy. Only two pages in the manual that mention it should be below (or above). Am I missing something or is it really that simple?

Hi!

I'm going to move this thread over to our Kubota section.

Someone over there should have some insight.

I don't know but it looks like you mount the disk on one side of the rim or the other side to change the width....:confused3: I only have one piece rims on my tractors, Sorry....

Turning the discs was my first thought until I read the sentence in the manual that specifically said not to do that.

Then it says to attach as shown in “the following figure” and failure to do so may result in transmission damage. The “following figure” shows what appears to be a donut rim clamped to a center hub. Well, it’s a donut rim with a center hub so how the heck else would anyone attach it? Seems like if you didn’t attach it that way it would damage the transmission when the wheels fall off and the transmission slams into the ground. I guess that’s why I think I must be missing something and oversimplifying the process.

Thanks! That was actually helpful. Will take a closer look at my rims to be sure they’re the same as the MX. Looks like they are.
