Have a friend with a L4610 and bought a used 4560 backhoe. Doesn't look like the mounting kit will work with his tractor. Anybody got pictures of this setup? Also, it's marketed as a quick attach, but we can't see how you can use any 3 point hitch equipment with those mounting bars installed.

Thanks for any help or info.

OK, sorry to do this, but no responses yet.

Anybody have pictures of this setup, i.e. backhoe attached to an L series tractor? Suppose to be quick disconnect, but we can't visualize this.

Might help my friend. He has contacted Messicks, so maybe he will get his answer soon as to what attachment kit is needed.

Thanks.

Hey, that's my setup you're talking about there! Here's the deal regarding the 4560 backhoe on the Grand L-10 series... it requires getting a different ROPS with a slightly different bolt pattern designed to line up with the backhoe subframe. The dealer did that on my 4610 when I added the 4560 BH.

The alternate ROPS is about 6" taller than the original one, and I'm speculating that the increase in height was necessary for safety reasons due to the size/weight of the backhoe.

Once you get the right ROPS installed, the backhoe subframe installation is pretty straightforward. It is a pretty slick piece of engineering - at least to my simple mind - with the backhoe tucked in close to the rear axle, a true 4 point subframe installation, and yet the 3 point works just the same as without the BH.

In actual use, adding/removing the backhoe is a bit more work than changing 3pt implements, but with a little practice, it's not a major deal either. You do have to remove the 3pt links, but they come off with a couple of bolts, and you have to add a stabilizer pin for the pto pump, using one bolt.

It's a strong backhoe and will do some serious digging. Attached is a photo of mine clearing about an acre of pine stumps a while back, one of many projects the 4610/4560 has done in 8 trouble-free years.

Judging the sparse replies here, I guess there aren't many of these backhoes around. You did get me to re-activate my TBN account so I could pass this information on... I read the forums regularly, but have not posted for some time.

Good luck with the installation. By the way, I do have the original manuals which have installation instructions. If a dealer can't help you with this, send me a private message.

Thanks, I'm forwarding to my friend.

by chance, can you take a close up picture(s) of this hookup?

Sure, I'll be happy to take some close-ups this weekend for you.

Bama, here are some pics I took this afternoon. I tried to get different angles of the tractor and the BH. Sorry I do not have the BH actually on the tractor at the moment. Some things that came to mind:
1. You have to have the factory LA852 FEL on the tractor. Don't think it would work with a non-Kubota loader.
2. I think maybe the attachment points for the lower 3pt stabilizer arms are different with the taller ROPS. If your friend's tractor still has the original ROPS, they may not be in the right place to work with the BH.
3. You'll see a couple places where it was necessary to nibble away a small amount to the inner fender tinwork to get the upper BH bracket to fit.
Keep me posted on how this goes. Good luck to your friend on it.

Hank

PS: I sure hope your buddy has someplace indoors to work on this, or at least wait til it warms up!

The zip file won't open, not sure what the problem is, but can't see the pictures. Two people have tried this and can't open them.

Can you try again?

Thanks
