Hey Guys,
I'm looking at used tractors.
Between these two models, I'm getting myself confused. The L4400 seems to have more horsepower, but every other catagory the L4330 seems to outperform. This would include overall hydraulic flow, beefier FEL, and the ability to handle a BH92 better.

Am I missing something here? The 2.2L engines seem to be the same, but maybe they're tuned differently or have different pumps or something. Any insights would be helpful.

The L4400 is the standard L,the L4330 is a "grand L" and will have more standard features.I had a "30" series tractor it was a good one.We have one of each and "I" prefer the Grand's.

L4330 is an 2003 ~ 2007 model Kubota 'Grand L' which has a broad range of deluxe features as standard equipment, most significantly HST/PLUS transmission. Many on this site feel Kubota Grand L's represent the epitome of compact tractors.

L4400 is an 2004 ~ 2010 model standard L, Kubota's largest volume product line. A basic tractor available with extra cost options.

The L4330 is desirable 1,000 pounds heavier than the L4400.

Oh.... that makes sense.

I bought a BH92 by itself last week. The prior owner had it on a L4400, which he already sold. It looks like there is a possibility of me tracking it down and buying it, but the cost might skyrocket a bit.

There is also a local fellow that has a L4330 with 1500 hours or so on it. One owner, lots of maintenance records. But, he also already has the frame kit for mounting the BH92 on it, which I think was a $1200 option. He wants $18K for it, but it would make for a nice package with the BH92 I already own.

What do you guys think on that L4330 price?

Is it HST/PLUS or gear? HST market is $3,000 over gear. Gear is penalized in used market.

Has it been garaged or stored outside? Paint brightness/fade will tell you.
Seven or more years in the rain, outside, will not have done it good.
Outside always the possibility of rodents having chewed the wiring.

The additional 1,000 pounds in the L4330 chassis will make the tractor significantly more stable operating the Backhoe.

Here are two comps:
Kubota Grand L433 Diesel Tractor, 411HRS, 43HP, 4x4, Hydro, Kub LA853 Loader | eBay

26 Kubota L433 4x4 Compact Tractor w/ Loader! | eBay
Note: This is a gear tractor and engine hours are conspicuously unknown.

In Florida, $18,000 for an L4330/HST with FEL, indoor stored, good maintenance, would be a fair price. Backhoe frame additional value.
1,500 engine hours on a Kubota diesel is well broken in, no more.

The L4330 I'm looking at is HST. Parked inside, no paint oxidation, and he says he has a stack of receipts for dealer maintenance and supplies he's bought for intermediate maintenance. Says it's never had a 'big' issue. He just had the dealer do the 1500 hour service, which I guess was $1000 or so. Looks like it was basically used on a hobby farm to tend to horses.

To be fair, the L4400 is only 500lbs lighter.

The 4330 is indeed a deluxe grandL model, slightly stronger front loader.

The BH92 fit alot of models. including The MX line of tractors too. Which are more of an ecomony version of the larger grand L's, but still the larger frame and weight, and stronger hydraulics.

Perhaps you could share what you would like to do with the tractor other than operate the BH92?

I've some septic systems that need to be rehab'd. Would like to build a bulkhead on some freshwater property. If it was strong enough to move ecology blocks, I'd be super excited, but I'm not counting on that. I need to dig a foundation for new construction, and probably put in a driveway (easy job, wouldn't need a dozer for that). I basically want a TLB bigger than the BX25 (and the B7500) that I could still pull with a 3/4 Ton diesel pick up. A Case 580 is just too much to drag with a non-CDL truck.
