L4330, filled R4, QA, eHyd to HD 4 in 1

Well I did it, after joining in some Kioti and general discussions, looking at JD4120, NH45TD, Kioti 55DK, I decided on a Kubota L4330, filled R4s, QA, eHydro to a HD 4 in 1. The 4 in 1 was admittedly a bit of last minute decision. It is an Extreme Duty 73" "Construction Attachments" I think it is about #800.

Does any one have an opinion if this is too heavy?

Second Question. Any reason I can not run a couple of Hyd lines from the loader joy stick to the 3pt for a top cylinder and a wheel plow cylinder when if I take the bucket off?

I see no reason you could not tap into the loader circuit. The down side is not being able to use that hydraulic top link when the loader is on. The loader adds an immense traction ability to the tractor, much more then you would ever think. I could not rip without it on nearly as successful. That heavy bucket will add even more traction. I don't really see where having a heavier duty bucket is going to be a problem provided the LA 853 can lift it when the bucket is heaped.

PS, I am frequently in Palo Cedro doing work for a relative. Did you go to Georges Tractors?

Muscat, 800 pounds with filled tires will probably be OK. The attachment above is a L5030 & LA853 loader with unfilled tires and a 900 pound boxblade on back. I have a Bobcat grapple bucket 845 pounds + 55 pounds of added teeth = 900 pounds. I did start to get tipsy so I will have to put my backhoe on for added weight when moving brush. If I tried to pick up too much it would not lift past the hood. But If you look at the bucket you will see that it is long and the weight is at the end, with your 4n1 you will not have that problem.
I think you will be OK, except maybe when you pick up a extra large scoop of wet sand that goes all the way out to the edge of the teeth. Good luck!

That is a nice looking grapple. I am trying to decide if the 4 in 1 will work for moving brush (I am thinking not) in any case why did you get a bucket type grapple vs a tine type ie brush/root grapple.

Any recommendation on good place to buy a brush/root grapple and what features I should look for? (also want a pallet fork)

If your going to just have one bucket, I would think the 4-N-1 would be more versatile. Even the 4-N-1 can grab a considerable amount of brush.

Pardon me jumping into the middle, I am wanting to purchase a L4330 with LA853 loader. I hope to also acquire a root grapple. My question is how have you connected the grapple cylinders to the hydraulic system? Would you do it differently next time? My dealer suggested a third function thumb switch on loader controls for $850+. Price seems high for a hydraulic valve.

Thumb switch is the best way to add a third function and that is the going rate. You are dealing with an electric controled hydraulic valve, switch, some very long lines and that nasty word LABOR ($70-85per hour) That all adds up quick....

Doing the divertor yourself could cut you down to 500$ or so. You may want to use a remote valve if you aren't using it too frequently.

I am an engineer by training and have not found anything I would not take apart, so I will probably install the third function valve myself. Do you know of one supplier that could deliver all the parts needed? I have looked at Northern Tool and thought some parts may come from there.
