L4240 with la854 loader pick up #1550

I have someone delivering a bush hog 406 model this afternoon on the back of his pickup. With proper counterweight, will my loader and tractor handle this. The rotary cutter weighs #1550. I figure I just need to pick it up enough for him to pull out from under it. The loader max is #1850 or #2400 at pivot pin.

Should do it with enough ballast.

Shouldn't be a problem. As other poster said, it may be a bit more "comfortable" with some ballast on the back.

Will you tell my wife that I was right for once. According to her the last time I was right was May 25, 1996. Perhaps I should have mentioned that in my previous post.

You beat me by a bunch, Frank. My wife claims the last time I was right was when I said, "I do" in December of 1969.

I'd be more worried about it being too much for the 3 pt hitch? I know my tractor is older and has less lift capacity but I'm way over the recommended max weight for rotary cutter (according to the manual) with my 1300lb cutter. Are you worried your pushing the limits for the 3 pt hitch? What's the manual recommend for max weight for the rotary cutter? That's a lot of weight far back.

On the other hand, there aren't many cutters out there more heavy duty than a 406! Possibly the Brown 672/616 but that's about it. That's a heck of a nice bush hog you got there! I'd love to see some pics setup on the tractor. Let us know how she handles it and congratulations!
