L4150DT Old but Still Good Machine!

I noticed a thread about tractor complaints. I must say, I have a mid 80's
L4150DT with 1950 hours on it. General Maint. have done some bearings and bushings along with some Here and There's.

I just pulled a 14' no till CREP seeder from dawn till after dark for 4 days straight in mid 90 heat. 5th gear just shy of wide open. This thing is a 50hp tank. Sure it aint pretty and have lived outside it's entire life, but it built my home, backfilled my foundation, leveled a 9 acre yard, hauled countless buckets of dirt, rock or landscape and just about anything I didn't want to carry. Get this, with proper bracing it will lift 23 1/2 sheets of plywood sheeting and lay it in the roof for throwing.

I don't think I have any complaints, doesn't use oil and always starts. I don't know if I could stomach losing her to a newer machine.

Just a pence for thought.......

Viva the L-3s out there! Made when tractors were heavy, over-design was normal, and model numbers were pto horsepower.

I agree, my L4150 is a tank as well, other than rotten fenders she still fills the bill, bush hogging in the summer and blowing snow in the winter.
