Got pics this weekend of my quick hitch sub-frame front bracket and grill guard mounted at same time. I use my front bracket for trailer tie down, so I want it left on at all times. It is a real pain in the butt to mount both front bracket and grill guard at same time, so I used 2 counter sunk screws to locate front bracket (these are used for locating only, never use without 4 proper mountint bolts). This way I can quicky and easily install or remove grill guard as required. Personally, I only mount the grill guard when I am doing potentially damaging FEL work. Crazyal, here are the pics, thought I would share. Philip.

Would it be possible to do a mount that uses pins?
Looks good!

Not exactly sure what you mean, but the bolts tighten guard securly so it does not move around or vibrate. Thanks. Philip.

Nice addition! I use the tube of my loader to run my chain through. The piece you added for the tie down, did you make it? I great solution, nice work!

Thanks. I purchased tractor without FEL, so another solution was needed fast, and this worked out well. I bought FEL at later date, and I trailer a fair amount without in on, so this still works for me. I did not make that, it is the front bracket for the sub-frame. Sub-frame is used for front blade (what I have, purchased with tractor), front snow blower, or front broom. Philip.

Philip,

Thanks, great idea!

We have a new GL5240 with loader, and I have yet to mount the quick hitch for the snowblower. When I do, I plan to use your method to mount both the front quick hitch bracket and the front bumper. I want to leave the bumper mounted at all times.

Are longer bolts required for the dual mount? Can you tell me if your snowblower will mount and function with the bumper in place?

I do think I got longer bolts. Most of these fine thread metric fasteners I have needed are available from McMaster Carr. I plan to mount the blade in the next week or two. I will follow up then. Check with Crazyal. I believe he said he had his complete subframe mounted with the FEL and guard attached. Philip.

Thanks. Regarding the bolts, installed are 14 mm diameter 1.5 pitch X 40 mm length. It will take 53 mm length to mount the guard and quick hitch.

UPDATE

I got the longer bolts and did mount the guard in front of the L2180-1 Quick Hitch Subframe's stationary attachment. Unfortunately, the subframe itself interferes with the guard, so the guard had to be removed.

The attached photo, from below, shows where the hydraulics hit the front guard. The subframe is over an inch from being able to install the front mounting pins.

It looks like Kubota could have designed the guard by moving the interferring guard cross-brace to allow it to clear the subframe and stay mounted.

it looks like the cylinder has several mounting holes, I'm guessing you can change the height of the tongue of the sub frame. Which holes is the cylinder using? It looks like it's the fitting that's hitting not the cylinder. If so could you put an extension to move the elbow closer to the tractor?
