L39 72\" FEL How many ft3?

Hey all,

Just sitting here trying to justify buying this tractor. I have a job coming up were I will have to pour a 6yd pour in a backyard. Just curious about the cubic feet capacity of the FEL so I know about how many trips it will take me.

thanks,
tim

According to the Kuboa web site, the 72" square bucket has either a 10.8 (LA723) or 13.2 (LA853) cubic feet capacity

Re: L39 72\" FEL How many ft3?

Thanks Jim,

Anybody know which Kubota HD bucket comes with the L39?

LA723 or LA853 or ?

I know the Kubota website says it is the TL1000 but I think that refers to the whole FEL mechanism not just the front bucket.

Kubota Website is not forthcoming

Tim,

The bucket is unique from what I've seen. Although it is very similar in size to my old L3830. I'd figure something around 11 cubic feet is a good estimate for your estimate /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: L39 72\" FEL How many ft3?

Sort of a related question (RaT will recognize the topic from anouther thread) on a L4330 with a 4 in 1 I am considering having the dealer switch to a low capacity 4 in 1 before I pick it up. The one that I odered has a heaped capacity of 17cf and the bucket it self weighs 820# (I am concerned I wont be able to use all this capacity plus the weight of the bucket) If I switch to the low capacity bucket is has a heaped capacity of 13cf and the bucket weighs in at 685#

Thoughts????

Just having a jaw on the bucket is indeed going to put you way ahead in usefulness. I would certainly have considered a 4N1 had I had a LA 853 instead of the LA 723 I have, even if it meant loosing some capacity. Where you will find having the heavy bucket more of a issue is going into piles of material and lifting a bucket load. You have to work the loader to get it to "break" and lift the material more then a lighter bucket. I indeed notice the difference in resistance of the lift when I have my toothbar on, not from the weight of the toothbar but from the extra moment it adds by sticking out another 6" or so plus the considerably larger heaped capacity it affords. It's not a problem and I will always throw it on when moving tons of dirt simple because even though the loader speed is slowed some, the heaped quantity is noticeably larger. If you intend to go with a QA setup, the quick attach will push the bucket further out as well reducing the lift capacity. If your going QA with your 4N1, I would probably go with the lighter weight bucket. Either way, get a nice heavy boxscraper, mines 1000lbs and consider ballasting the rears with a 4N1. I don't ballast and found the loader and boxscraper I have work superb together. Of course, I am using the smaller loader as well but used this box on my L48 with similar results but ballasted rears. I think you would probably end up being happier in practical terms with the lighter, smaller capacity 4N1 that still outwieghs even the HD bucket for the LA 853 by many hundreds of pounds.
