I have a price on an L3830 DT for $15,000 and my loader options are a LA723 for $4300 more and QA adds $350. The dealer also carries Woods loaders with the Woods model 1012 for $3650 and the 1016 model for $3960 and both of these prices include QA in the price. I have read alot and learned even more from this board and many say to always go with the tractor brand implements if only for the higher resale value. I have asked 2 local dealers if they make a difference on trade-in value based on the loader brand and I have been told both times that as long as the loader is a recognized brand name they will not pay any more for a kubota loader.
The lift cap on the kubota is 1870# and 2605# break-out. Woods is 1375 lift 3020 BO and 1875 lift and 3850 BO respectively.
Thanks for the advice.

I have stated this before and will again. I am pro Kubota implements, especially the FEL.

My 853 on my 5030 is really slick and the mount and dis-mount is quick and easy.

Kubota loaders look "integrated" with the tractor. Just make sure you get the excavation bucket. The material bucket is wimpy. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I'm a little surprised by that. If you were buying a used rig, which would you pay more for; a tractor with a matching FEL or an identical tractor with an aftermarket, other brand FEL? And if you have a problem sometime in the future, what's the liklihood of the tractor manufacturer blaming the aftermarket FEL, or the FEL manufacturer blaming the tractor manufacturer?

Now I know there are good aftermarket front end loaders that work well, and there may never be a problem, so to some extent, it's personal preference, and personally, I have a strong preference for matching the FEL to the tractor. Only if I were buying an old used tractor at a bargain price would I also consider a cheaper aftermarket FEL.

I look at a lot of things when comparing spec's on machines. One of them is capacities. I would think that if Kubota wanted a loader to be stronger, they would know how to do it best. I also believe they would know how much the tractor can carry the best. When I see aftermarkets that can over do or out do the factroy stuff I worry. I've had enough front axles repaired because of someone thnking that if it's built and made for that it must be ok. Boy's hate to dissappoint you but I would worry over that combination and I do recommend brand loaders with tractors and do allow more. I know that the tractors with factory loaders don't have increased capacities and the ability to be over loaded with out any one knowing.

Hi...

For me... I'd go all Kubota...

Check the 3rd party loaders for other specs/measurements... they probably stick out further or less than the Kubota's...

Check/try out the joystick control too... not the same...

Chieff,
I just traded my Case DX33 with a Woods 1012 Loader for a Kubota L3830 HST w/ The 723 FEL. The Woods loader has about the same max height reach and seems to be a fine loader. I didn't like their loader removal system as well as Kubota's. I definitely would highly recommend going with the 723 Kubota Loader, better lift capacity and easier to remove in my opinion than the Woods 1012 loader. It's just my opinion but for what it is worth, I have had both and definitely like the Kubota Loader.

I chose the Woods 1012 Loader for may Case DX33(same as New Holland TC33D) simply because it was a better loader at the time compared to the Case Loader.

The 723 is a very beefy looking loader and easier to remove than the Woods. Make sure you get the Quick Attach feature for the bucket, well woth the $350 in my opinion.

I can detach my LA 723 in about 37 seconds and reattach in about 90 seconds. I think the attach/deattach is slick. I take mine on and off frequently. It's great.
