L3800 Air Filter question.

Does the L3800 have two air filters (inner and outer) or just one? If just one which replacement do you buy?

If it's like the L3400, the second filter is an option for extremely dusty conditions. All that's in mine is the paper filter.

If you only want one filter it will be the outer filter the bigger of the two.
I believe the part # for outer is (ta040-93230) inner is (ta040-93220) if used together as a set.
If only a single filter is used alone according to kubota parts its a (tc220-16300)
Next time i change mine i'm going with the dual filters .

I checked my filter # and it is ta040-93231 (single filter that it came with new)

My L3830 uses a TA040-93220 inner filter and a TA040-93230 outer filter. Personally, I would not think of operating the tractor without both filters. I replace both filters every 100 hours.

I do work in exteme dust and chaff. Every hour or so (when the engine temperature gauge starts to creep upward) I have to clean the screen in front of the radiator and clean all the air intakes into the engine compartment to prevent overheating.

Kubota recommends that the outer paper filter can be washed out up to six times before replacing,the inner filter is not servicable.At least that is how it is with my L3240.
