L3600 hydraulic pump capacity question

I am looking at the specs for L3600 - especially in the Hydraulic section. It has Pump Capacity (main) and Pump Capacity (PS). Does anybody know what this means? What does PS stand for and why are two pump capacities listed for L2800, L3400 and L4400 models? All the other models have one total pump output. B7800 specs indicate 'dual pump' but only give one total pump output. Is the total pump output sum of 'Main' and 'PS' (whatever PS means)?

Are you sure PS in Hydraulic Pump Capacity stands for 'power steering'? Does it require 3.8 gpm just for steering while the main pump for all other hydraulic function generates 6.3 gpm? Power Steering alone requires gpm equivalent to 60% of main pump capacity is hard to believe.

Different models provide power steering in different ways. Most Kubota's and NH's put two seperate pumps on and resivoirs on the tractors to accomplish different tasks. On some Kubota's and most of the JD's there is a single pump and single resivoir that supplies fluid and power for the whole tractor. One pump to handle power steering, three point operation and loader is you have one or a dedicated pump and resivoir to the power steering with another to concentrate on the other features of the tractor.

That is a old sales techniche the JD guys used to use by stating that thier hyd pump had a higher capacity than Kubota or NH but thier pump had to supply everything. We would tell the customer that to be fair you need to add the PS pump to the main pump to compare GPM if that was a hot button for them.

Think about how quickly you want those wheels to steer sometimes. At lo engine speed you will sometimes feel the limit to PS assisted turning rate.

That ps pump capacity supplies the power steering & the oil pressure to make the gst work properly. You can lose the clutch pack & lose power steering. Depending how much is leaking in the clutch pack. Also you can Bloemfontein the power steering cylinder & depending on how bad it is leaking the clutch pack will start acting up. Mine is doing I Robyn one.
