First of all, thanks to all who helped with educating me by sharing your knowledge. After many months of studying, I made my decision and the results are sitting in my shop. I took your advise seriously and followed it as my budget allowed. I did have to pass on the heavier FEL and put the money toward a 3rd valve (slick installation). A Markham Welding toothbar and Andy Tatro grapple should drain the money pot.
Other piece of good news: In spite of my excitement, I'm one-for-one on remembering to fold the ROPS before I put it in the shop!
Anyhow, my thanks to all for your support. I'm attaching a couple of requisite photos to maintain my membership (thanks to "Grrrr" for his excellent posting on uploading photos).

Congratulations! You're gonna love the HST + on these Grand Ls. Glad you got a good photo to post while it was still clean :)

BTW what is the silver 3 point in the garage?

Welcome to TBN posting! Great looking tractor... and you got some really grand attachments for it, too... remembering that a tractor is just an engine, it's the attachments that do the actual work!

thanks for the photos and go get it dirty and show us what you're up to:D

Thank you everybody.

Talon Dancer,
The silver three point attachment in the foreground of the picture is the top of a Dearborn model 10-156 2-bottom plow that I bought recently and am restoring. I've been cleaning it and am about have it sandblasted by a friend of mine who owns a sandblasting shop. I've got new points for it and managed to scrounge up a brand new coulter from an Amish farmer locally. I'm looking forward to getting it painted soon and in the ground in the Spring.

That's a cool looking plow.

BTW it's no wonder I didn't recognize it. Around here our soil is so shallow, we "plow" with soup spoons or rock saws

Frank

I second that. When I got my L5030 I broke it in cleaning out the barn. :)
It looks real nice and you got a nice home for it.
What are the loader options on the 40 series? I went to kubota web and did not even see loader models listed like they are for the L30 series. Also does anyone know if the QA bracket for the L40 is the same as the one for L30's?

Buckeyefarmer,
The "Quick Attach" option for the loader/bucket mounting on the L3540 is a $314 option. I would guess with you that since it's described as a "skid-steer style", it's an industry standard mounting and would be the same on the L40s as it was on the L30s.
