L35 No forward, reverse or steering

I am having an issue. Yesterday when using the tractor there was a shudder when raising the front bucket. I checked the fluids and they are ok. Started the tractor this morning and it would not move and I did not have power steering. After a few minutes of checking all the levers the tractor started to backup but no steering. tried forward but nothing. After a few more minutes I can occasionally get it move forward or reverse with some steering. The backhoe and bucket work ok but still some shudder. Any ideas??

Not sure about the L35 but I bet it is similar to my L39 in that the power steering pump also powers the GST transmission. Since it works intermittently, it may be clogged filters. On mine, the pumps all share the same suction filters. If the filters are clogged, then the main pump may be taking most of the flow and starving the power steering pump. A suction side leak allowing air in to the system could do the same thing. The oil would be aerated and tend to foam if you have a suction side leak.

Take the pump off and check the shaft. This happened to my L48 and the splines on the shaft were wore. It cost me just over 200 to get a new shaft and have it rebuilt.

Ok, I found the problem. It was a suction side leak like Stonehaller suggested. Replaced a few hoses and back in business. Thanks for the suggestions.
