L3400 Loader On/Off

Last week I graduated from a Jinma tractor to a new L3400/x LA463 loader. What a sweet machine! I am familiar with a Koyker loader and didn't take long to figure out how the easy Kubota loader would go on and off. When mowing I prefer to have it off. Anyway I have read all the literature and searched the forum for some advice because my pins do not line up correctly for removal. I have to physically drive them in and out! With the loader off I can line it up and see where it is just a tad off. Today I spent an hour looking for the sweet spot by tilting the loader 20 degrees(plus or minus 20) and experiment from a slight load off to to raising the front wheels off the ground. There surely must be a trick and I sure wish somebody would share it with a newbie!

Congrats on your new tractor!! I have an L4400, and at first, i had problems too. I found a couple of important things. 1. firm LEVEL ground. The book says it, and it means it. I have removed the loader successfully, and had a heck of a time putting it back on. 2. small, patient movements of the controls move the mounting holes into alignment better than harsh movements do. Practice makes perfect. You should never have to drive the pins in. This will wear the holes out, and make it harder to do in the future. Also, don't try to remove the loader with anything but the bucket on it. I.E. pallet forks. This makes it a royal pain...

Also make sure that when the tractor is off the move the loader lever all the way around a couple of times to release the hydraulic pressure in the lines. If not you will never get the quick connects back on, don't ask me how I know....
