I had a problem with the parking brake working and discovered that the flat piece of medal on the left brake pedal that engages the parking brake notches had torn and was no longer landing in the notches.

I ordered and received a replacement left brake pedal.

I'm not real mechanically inclined so I'm looking for advice from anyone who has replaced a brake pedal - cautions, steps to take, etc.

And, while I am in here, I have a problem seeing the hydraulic fluid level on the gauge (little window). Is there a way to know you have the right level by looking in the input port?

Thanks,

Sliderule

The brake pedals swing on a pivot shaft that has grease fittings - but sometimes they are allowed to get pretty dry and stiff. The whole assembly unbolts if you need to work it on a bench. Attached diagram pdf printed from the factory website. Clean everything up and lube it well as it goes back together.

Thanks for the reply!

I apologize for the long delay in reply. I was sick, had a death in the family, trips, holidays, etc. etc. No excuses - just had to put the tractor on the back burner.

I'm ready to work on this thing again. I really appreciate the tech sheets. The previous owner of the tractor had the shop manual but the brake pedal information was for the L2850. I don't see any apparent differences between the L3250/L2850 pages but it good to see L3250 at the top of the page.

I plan on working today so I'll let you know if I actually get it to work!

I'm going to try and attach a page from the manual that gives the steps to removing the brake pedal. Please let me know if anything there doesn't make sense for the L3250.

Thanks again.

When you have a look under there you'll see the two pedal pivot shafts are supported by bearing blocks bolted to the bottom of the tractor. It may be easier to unbolt the 2-pedal assembly for working on it. Have fun - you'll do fine. BTW the L3250 and L2850 are nearly identical except engine displacement. Dick B
