L3240....
I am having a problem. and need to remove/replace the control valve. I want to disassemble the valve then clean, reassemble. Failing that, I will be spending $1k for a new valve. either way, I want advice on removal, replacement of the valve.

I have the service manual which says:
-remove tire (supporting the transmission case versus axle which surprised me)
-remove fender
-remove pipes
-remove control rods
-remove the vale itself

All that assumes I already know about hydraulics which I don't really.

My ask concerns things like HOW to remove pipes...I assume line wrench.

Also, what about capturing fluid....What about how to deal with bleeding or priming or otherwise dealing with air in system

??

If you really know nothing about hydraulics I believe you've arrived at a really good stopping point. You can end up costing yourself far more money than you would have saved - assuming you can recognize what parts are needed and find a source for them. You may be able to have it repaired reasonably at a local hydraulic shop if you prefer not to go to the dealer.

Curious what type of problem you're having.

Thanks for asking.

My situation is exactly as described by a person on another forum: I am proud owner of a L3240 HST and having a problem with FEL control valve in the left or right position; it sticks and has to be manually bumped back in neutral position. Moving the valve forward or back springs back into neutral automatically. It started gradually and got progressively worse. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Responses to that person...which makes sense to me were:

Clean/oil the outside moving parts...and if that does not work, then either

replace the valve assembly....or disasseble the valve then clean/replace parts. At least one person reported good results with that.

I could be wrong, but I strongly believe the valve has sticking/dirty parts.

I would be happy to provide the link to the other forum...but I suspect this forum has rules against that....

Just goggled your "Subject" and we all know the OTT site... I'm reading the thread now.

Can you post of photo of the valve... isn't it up by the loader? (I don't know your tractor, sorry) Seems to me that your "service manual" is talking about valves for rear remotes...

<EDIT> I see what you are talking about, Too bad that thread didn't have a final reply as to what was the solution.... and he quit going to that site. Hopefully, someone will be here shortly that knows your model. Sorry, I don't :(

I have as good of (bad grammar?) pictures as I can make without removing the wheel and fender along with scans of the official WSM Kubota manual. They are in a public Google Doc I made.

Can I post the URL here?

I will do that in my next message and thus if it is not allowed it will be easy to delete then I can just post individual pictures.

Here it is: Solving Front End Loader control not working well 4/21/2 - Google Docs

If there is anything in there you guys think is good for posterity in this thread....you or I can upload to this thread because someday I might delete that Google Doc

note

That link has my document, but this link has the folder with pictures and that document

Folder for FEL valve sticking

First I don't know anything about your tractor but if the FEL control is working normally (other than the stick sticking). My GUESS is it's a problem with the detent cap. You can unscrew this without removing anything from your tractor. Unscrew them and look into them to see if it look "good" (not rusted or dirt filled). Pretty sure you'll run into balls and springs that might pop out. You could search Detent. and see what other have said about cleaning up the cap.

I would try that first before removing a wheel. Worse case, the detent cap is fine but I bumped your thread up so someone else that might be able to see this thread and know the correct answer!!!
