L3130 Very good decision

I debated and discussed on this forum buying a 7800/2910 or a L3130. Went with the 3130 and can not tell you how happy I am. The L3130 has already done some things (with effort) that the 7800 just would not have been able to do because of the weight. Also finding all kinds of things to make life easier with the tractor that I had not planned on. For the relatively small price difference this was definately the right move for us

Hi Markinmich, Glad to hear that. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I too have gone through that debate as well. Even lost some sleep researching. Decided to go with L3130 as well, hopefully it will come in this weekend. Congratulations on your new purchase. Keep us up dated on how you are doing with it. ---Shane

Thanks Shane,

Plus it is a darn nice looking tractor. A minor glitch. The switch that prevents starting unless you are in neutral went bad so the tractor won't start unless hot wired. Hopefully fixed and back from the dealer soon. Good luck on your new L3130. I think you will be very pleased.

My L3130 will start in gear but its a hydro so it wont go anywhere unless you step on the pedal.

I'm assuming you have the geared version not HST?

Works the same on my 5030HSTC. Just step on the clutch and start it. I did do one thing, I taped the OPD switch under the seat in the closed position. I do a lot of PTO work with me not in the tractor, like running grain augers, etc. Kubota has an override procedure for this but I'm always in a hurry. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

We just got our L3130 on Wednesday but, that is when our weather took a turn for the worse - been cold & rainy ever since. All Iv'e done with it so far is to use the loader to unpack the 3pt attachments from the pallets and move them to a storage spot. I then parked it in the garage and mounted the Box Blade. Talk about feeling teased . . . oh well, one of these days. I can't wait to see what I can really do with it when the ground dries up.

You obviously did some research before your buying decision. Could you save me a little time by giving me an idea how much (or how little) price difference there is among the 7800/2910/3130? I have a good idea of the price of the various extras/implements. I am mainly interested in what the price difference is for each tractor with loader.

Can't comment on the 7800, but in some instances the 2910 will be slightly less or slightly more than the 3130. There's not a big price difference in price and the 3130 is a lot more tractor.

I got prices on the 2910 about $2000 lower than a 3130 but, the differences in the two tractors was substantial.

I have the 3130 HST, the "override" is pretty easy.. you just raise the seat fully.. in other words.. pivot it forward all the way.. then engage the PTO.
