2004 Kubota L3130hst
Finally got to drive the L3130 today (been shopping since April) at two different dealerships, both of whom seemed okay. A third Kubota dealer I visited a few weeks ago didn't have the L3130 on the lot and he did not leave a good impression on me.

As for the L3130, it ran smooth as silk and quietly, and I loved the lever cruise control. Had been leaning towards the JD4310 or saving money by going the Kioti CK25 route if I didn't jump on the used NH TC45 I wrote about elsewhere on this forum. Having visited MF, Kioti, Branson, Farmtrac, NH, JD, Case, Agco and Cub Cadet dealerships and driving many models, the Kubota impressed the most, and I am tired of shopping and need to get working. The responses to my "used tractor" inquiry leaves me thinking "new" is the only one I'll be comfortable with.

Anyone know if there are any incentives/discounts that would make these prices seem good or bad in KY area:

$18,125 L3130hst with 723 loader, ag tires loaded with antifreeze, no free service at 50 hours (which I asked for as almost all other dealers offered this).

$19,100 L3130hst with 723 loader, heavy duty bucket, r4 tires not loaded, no free service at 50 hours (Kubota dealers must not think they need to do this).

I think if I subtracted industrial tires and heavy duty bucket from the second, these appear to be almost the same price. The second one said Kubota recommends calcium cloride if I did load the tires and that antifreeze will eventually react with the rubber and shouldn't be used. Anyone know about that, as I keep hearing and reading different stories. Beet juice sounds best if I can get it around here.

Now, if only I drove the Kubota first I might already be an owner instead of a shopper. The brake position being awkwardly too close to the hydro pedal was the only thing I could find to fault. Loader was not on either one, so I just hope I'll like it.

Sounds like you did the hard part, did all the testing and comparing and narrowed it down to the one machine.
I'm reasonably sure you would like the 723 loader, the prices don't sound to bad.
So quit shopping and get to working /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The only incentive I found was Kubota's Finance rates.
12 to 24 Months 0.00%
36 Months 1.99%
48 Months 3.49%
60 Months 3.99%
72 Months** 4.49%
Ask the dealer to sharpen his pencil.
Because your still looking at the other brands. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

$18K is almost exactly 15% off list price for the L3130HST with 723 loader. From what I have seen on TBN, 15% off list represents a good deal on most new tractors. Recently, I shopped alot for a Grand L (ended up going with a different brand for dealer reasons and price), and I couldn't get 15% off on a new machine (only on a slightly used, harvest rental return unit). Looks like you have found a couple of good Kub dealers.

"The brake position being awkwardly too close to the hydro pedal was the only thing I could find to fault." - fixit

Fixit, I have the big brother (5030HST) with the same pedal arrangement. The tractor turns very good and when I take my foot off the HST pedal it stops quickly and I do not use the brake. In fact the only time I depress the brake pedal is to lock the brakes when I use the backhoe. Now if I would be plowing and needed to turn on a dime at the end of the row, I might use it a bit more - but I don't.

On page 64 of your owner's manual Kubota says that the water and calcium chloride solution will not damage the tire, tubes or rims, will not freeze and has the full approval of the tire companies. (fill only 75%).

fixit-
I looked around a long time and finally settleds on the L3130 HST with 723 FEL. Nice machine and fills my needs fully. For what it's worth, the following is what I paid in northern Wisconsin:
L3130HST w/FROPS, 4x4, R4 tires, Frost plug heater, L723 FEL, 72" bucket --------------------------------$19,900
1 Rear Remote valve ------------------------- 600
Rim Guard in rear tires ----------------------- 300
Tooth Bar for bucket ------------------------- 450
BB2566 Land Pride Box Scraper ------------ 895
Virnig Bolt-on Grapple ----------------------- 895
Quick Attach ---------------------------------- 380
Quick couplers & hose for bucket ---------- 150
Bl80A PHD w/12" auger -------------------- 1,020

Don't know if these were good prices or not, but was starting to get dizzy and confused chking prices, options, etc.

Very happy with everything, have been using FEL to repair a road washout and dam damage and bush hogging woods roads.

I added a home made brush guard for the FROPS - have been hit with debris in the past when bush hogging with my TO20. Attaching a picture.
