L3130 LA513 vs. L3000DT

I have a L3130 with the LA513, My uncle has a L3000DT with a FEL, but I don't know what model. ( I think its a 4** something). How does the FEL compare to the LA513? How does the tractor compare to each other?

I own an L3000DT. I think it would not be a good choice for FEL work as it is a gear transmission. I do not have a FEL, but I have not liked doing box blade work with mine because it is a little hard to match forward and reverse speeds. For example, if you grade in 5th gear, reverse will be much too fast. If you grade in 4th, reverse will be too slow. It requires a shift of the high-low selector along with the transmision to match what a hydrostat or shuttle transmission can do. Maybe they fixed this on the newer ones.

Okay, I found out it is a L3000Dt with a LB402 loader. Does anybody know the spec or anything about this FEL?

The loader is capable of picking up about 400 kgs (880 lbs) . The LA513 is capable of picking up about 510 kgs (1100lbs). It is my understanding that the bucket weight needs to be included in the total weight the loader can pick up.

I have a L3000DT with the LB 402 FEL. There is a label on the loader frame that says something like "for normal loading purposes". Mine will pick up a full load of gravel, dirt, or rocks without any problems.

Much of what can be done with a tractor and loader is 75% operator experience. Don't expect to dig into a bank of hard pan or dirt with big stones in it and come away with a bucket full every time. Keep in mind that this is a tractor not a bull dozer.

The L3130 is a larger tractor with a bigger loader it's going to move more material and dig a little better than the smaller tractor. Check the weight diference between the two. A good operator however can make the smaller machine look much better than the slightly larger one.
