hello guys,
I am in the market to get rid of my BX22 and move up to the L3130. I am thinking of trading it in but would like to sell it privately. I am buying my buddies Harley Pro-6 power rake for my new landscape business and need something to run it. Any owners of the 3130 HST have any comments, likes or dislikes, suggestions they would like to share with me. I have the BX listed in the classifieds if anybody is interested or knows anybody interested in it. Here is what I am looking to get for a tractor.

2003 L3130 HST
R-4 tires
foldable ROPS
one set of rear remote hydraulics
LA723 loader w/ 4 way valve
quick attach for loader
72" heavy duty bucket
removeable toothbar

What do you guys think is a good price? I have my dealer pricing it as we speak and will let you know on the outcome.

Well I am a new owner of a L3130HST. I have about 24 hours on her know. I find myself looking for things to do so I can just get some seat time in. The tractor is great!!!!!! It is quiet and smooth to operate. I only bought the tractor, back blade and brush hog....wish I would have talked the CFO into the FEL. The tractor was 13200 pluse another 1050 for loaded rear tires, front weights and the implements. The only thing I do not like about the tractor are the brake pedals.....poorly located. But with the HST trany and tight turning radius I am getting used to not using the brakes for turning and the HST holds itself on the steepest of hills. Good luck with your purchase. You are a wise man for choosing orange /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I ended up buying a grand L series Kubota because of my experience from borrowing my neighbor's L3130. It was a dream to operate (removing snow with the FEL). However, I felt that the 3130 was a little underpowered for my tastes and bought the 4330, which has a 4 cylinder engine versus 3 and more torque. I don't know how much power you need to do the work you do, but it may make sense to consider a larger engine if it is in the budget. Good luck and have fun with your search.

I'll second the L4330. The L3130 is a fine tractor for the horse power. I like the big frame. I started looking at the Deere 4310, almost bought one until I saw the L Grande Kubota. It was love at first drive. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Haven't owned it a year yet, but I'm 100% happy with it so far. It got soaked while "mud bogging" and creek running not one electrical problem. Best small tractor I've ever been on.

Brakes? Never use 'em. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I just picked up an L3130 HST and I'm very happy with the purchase, financing, dealer, power, comfort... You get the idea! While this is my first tractor, it well may be my last. So far it has exceeded my expectations and does everything I ask of it.

Brian,
The 3130 is a great tractor from what everyone has said. I was just wondering if the larger size is going to be limiting for a landscape business? Guess it depends on the average size of lots in your area but around here the B series tractors fit residential lots better.

Mark,
The only problem with the BX is it won't run the Harley power rake I am getting. And I cannot load a dump truck with it. I was looking at the B2710 and the B2910 but for the little extra I can get the L3130. Mostly I will be doing new lawn installs and lawn repairs. I should have gone along with everybodys word and gotten a bigger machine from the get-go /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif. I won't be getting a backhoe as of yet, but would like to get a BH90 for it eventually. And with the popularity of the BX22 and Kubota's financing /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I figured now is the time to do it!
Thanks again for all the input guys!!

Brian,

You might get more for it if you can omit the phrase "git rid of my BX22" from your sale ad. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I use my 3130 for my excavation business. Backhoe and Loader work, it's a good tractor for residential work but I'd double check the pto hp requirements to run that rake, I personally feel the 3130 is light on pto hp, but I am probably expecting too much out of my tractor. I've found that homeowners are generally impressed with the tractor when I arrive on the scene, but contractors usually give me a line like "you're gonna do what with that little tractor?" Like most people I seem to get jobs that are too big for my tractor, but I get them done, it just takes a little longer.

I paid $26,200 for mine with LA723 loader, hd bucket, quick attach, R4's, bh90, and rotary cutter. I don't know if that's a good deal where you live, but it was the best I found around here. Good Luck
