L3130 FRONT AXL BEARING

I HAVE 425 HOURS ON MY L3130 AND THE LEFT SEAL STARTED LEAKING ON THE FRONT HUB , THE BEARINGS WAS BAD
THE DEALER REPLACE THREE OF THE BEARING AT NO COST TO ME.
HAS ANYBODY HAD THIS HAPPED TO THEM ON THERE TRACTOR?

My L3830 has 562+ hours and no problems so far. Now ya got me to worrying, but I will keep a watch on them.

I just had both front seals and all bearing replaced under warranty on my L3130. At the time I had about 390 hours on the tractor. Most of those hours are with fel use. One seal was leaking just a little and the other had noticeable drip/wet spots on the hub. Dealer picked up tractor and delivered it back the next day, no charge.

My hubs had less oil on them than Theowegian's hubs. Dealer decided to replace the parts. I thought better have it done before warranty runs out.

I had a failed on on my Kubota 5030 hours at 1100 hrs.

Were there any other symptoms other than a leak that might have indicated a problem with the bearings?

Is there a way to check the hub for bearing play? I would like to know if there is some type of check or preventative maintenance that can be performed before failure takes place. (Besides fluid replacement)

Did the dealer give any indication what the failure looked like? Example: Flaking, Race Fracture, Seizing, Brinelling, etc

Mine was detected by the leak. I lifted the front end and there was a lot of play in the wheel bearings. I pulled the drain plug and sparkles came out.

Opened it up, only one wheel bearing cage had failed and been eaten over and over (its soft) getting run through the other bearings and pieces beaten into flat particles. The entire cage had been consumed.

I replaced all the bearings and seals in that side as it would be impossible to clean them adequately. I drained and replaced the fluid in the other side as well, no sign of problems.

Hello,

I am having the same problem now with our l3130. Left wheel has loose motion, seal leaking and metal sparkles in oil when I drained it. I have not took it apart yet. Did you repair your tractor yourself. If you did; how difficult was it?
