Price Check L2950 price check and opinions please

I am looking at a L2950 shuttle shift with a LA650 FEL and a top and tilt box scrapper 2900 hours price 12.5k.

The main thing that I was looking for was an ~30hp tractor with a top and tilt box .... this seems to fit the bill

From what I have read it has and independant PTO (which sounds good)

I would apriciate your thoughts on this tractor and the price.

Not sure where you are located, but I've got an L-2900 with only 740 hours on it, with a LA-480 FEL, industrial tires w/larger than normal tires on rear, and in EXCELLENT cond. Also includes Rhino 60 inch mower. PM me if you're interested and I'll fill you in. I'm in N.Texas

Here's a page at Machinery Link that describes the L2950. TractorTips and of course Kubota's Prior Models pages list several L2950 variants - some with Glide Shift (GST). Need to get the actual model number stamped on the trans case.

If this tractor says "Ever Clutch" on the side or Hydraulic Shuttle, it has hydraulic (wet) clutch and clutchless shuttle - nice features. GST is nice too - but with 2900 hours make sure the shifting works right. New this rig probably went for nearly $20 k with the 650 loader and box scraper. The 12.5k price sounds reasonable if condition is good - look for intact (and clean) air filter element, clean oil, minimal or no leakage. With that many hours, if it still looks decent, it has maybe had a relatively easy life. Probably on its second set or third set of tires. The person I am going to buy it from seemed to think it had and easy life becuase it had no loader on it ....

I can not find specs on the 650 loader .... Any idea how it compares to current model loaders ??

The person is refubishing it it will hae new tires, filters, paint, etc ....

The kubota loaders are named by a 3-digit number. I'm not sure what the number corresponds to exactly but it goes up with increasing load rating, breakout force etc. A 650 would be more rugged than a 483 but lighter than a 950.

New filters are nice - but you might want to inspect the existing air filter to make sure it's there and intact and working. 2900 hours is on the high side for a homeowner's tractor so it has possibly been in commercial hands - maintenance may have been good, maybe not. Inpsect it before it gets "reconditioned" if you can.

Maybe not exact, but how about lift capacity in kilograms instead of pounds. At least, so I've heard.

Bird - there is was right under my nose all these years and I never noticed it. From the few brochures I have it does indeed look like the loader model corresponds to the "max lift capacity" in kg. - thanks for telling me gently. Some of us old dogs just don't think metric no matter how many laws get passed. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif The fixed (non-detachable) 1720 loader had a max lift of 1450 lb (660 kg) so that one didn't fit - but the detachables I have info for are right in line. Thanks.
