I found a used L2850 4X4 with 1500 hr. on it. There is no FEL or BH on it. I would have to purchase these implements afterwards. I need the tractor to dig ditches for utilities and then landscaping for the house I am building on 4 acres. I also have to maintain a long gravel driveway. Of course I have more projects for the future but this will keep me busy for a while. I was looking at a used B21 but the fel won't come off. I saw a new L 2600 at the local fair a couple of weeks ago. If I could aford a new one it is what I would buy.
The owner is asking $3,000 for the L2850. This sounded fare to me. I would have to drive about 900 miles to get the tractor so I want to make sure it will work for me before I go all that way. What do you guys think?

$3000 sounds really cheap for a used L2850, even one with 1500 hrs on it. I would be rather suspect of it, especially with a 900 mile trip in front of it.
I to live here in western Washington (Monroe), and see used kubotas and John Deeres for sale in my area quite often. Have you checked all the area dealers. I know that up your way there is Scholten's Kubota in both Lynden and Burlington. As well as Sound Tractor (kubota) in Everett. John Deere is represented by Barnett Tractor in Burlington and Snohomish, plus another big dealer in Lynden (sorry forgot their name). Brim Tractor represents New Holland in both Burlington and Lynden, as well as Coastline Tractor in Everett. And there is Jennings Equipment (kub) and Sumner Tractor (J.D.) in the Puyallap/Sumner Area. There are also used tractors listed in "Little Nickel Advertisers" and the "The Big Truck And Trader" Magazines. And right now there are a lot of good low hour lease returns going back to the dealers from the state and local fairs that you can save some money on.
As I said there are quite a few tractors that come up for sale in the area. If I spot a good deal I'll contact you.
