L2800 fuel cut off solenoid,,, which one??

Been nursing the fuel solenoid for a while but it needs to be replaced. The parts fiche shows 2 different part numbers depending on S/N but the numbers don't seem to correspond to my S/N which is 57615.

Any idea which is the correct solenoid.

Are you sure it is the solenoid and not the control relay? On my 2550 the relay failed causing it to not send the current to activate the solenoid.

Yes, 100% sure it's the solenoid. I thought it was the connector and replaced that,,, worked for a couple months and then started acting up again. Today it wouldn't work at all and I pulled the sealed rubber cover off. The inside was full of water and the contact points corroded and burned. Cleaned up the points and it works but it really should be replaced. Still trying to figure out how it got full of water. The machine rarely sits outside and even so this is under the hood.

That is odd to have water in there. It is pretty well protected.

No ideas about the S/N????

I would lean towards the first one since 57615 should be earlier then the 6L1116. Call up the parts guy to double check.

Still scratching my head trying to figure out that logic. Different number of digits, combination of numerals and letters? Anyway the issue has been figured out. Need the engine serial number instead of the tractor serial number. And both of those parts on the fiche have been superseded by a new number... 1A021-60016
