L2501 tach/hr meter quit at 140 hrs

My 2018 L2501 DT has been running great, then no tach or hr meter at only 140 hrs. First, checked fuses, all good. No sticks that may have ripped wires.
Looks like the cable that connects to motor is near the oil filter? I can replace it myself, just need some input from y'all.

Cable is: TC415-34650 $24.27

However, to need a new cable at 140 hrs is most unusual.

Suggest you check both ends to see if their retaining nuts are tight.

Next, remove the dash end of the cable and, with the engine running, see if the cable is rotating.

Last, reconnect the dash end and remove the engine end and try rotating the inner cable with an electric drill, ( in the correct direction) to see if the panel meter moves.

At 140 hrs it is far more likely that it is something loose.

RickB, do you work at a Kubota dealership? If so I have a couple of questions to ask about my tractor.

After talking to a local dealership they have replaced several of the cables on L2501 models. If that's the biggest problem I have with my tractor I will be happy.
Funny thing is, my 1977 Ford 2600 tractor tach/hr meter has been working perfectly since I've owned it for the past 22 years. As far as I know it's the original one.

Replaced my cable today and all is good now. My dealership said they would have replaced it under warranty if I had brought it in OR they could have come to my home at no charge to replace it.
Even though I replaced it myself they did not charge for the cable which I thought was nice.

I replaced my tach cable two times under 200 hours the second time around I realized I didn't need to pull the dashboard apart and the first thing you do is check the motor end because that's where they break I've had it happen to me twice now so what I did was I remove the cable from the motor and the hold down harnesses and let it hang straight down and shook it around the inner cable part came out for me I took a Kubota original cable and put the new inner peace in the old Case think about it's really not old with only 200 hours on it I lubricated it the new one first because if you ask me it wasn't lubricated well enough it was dry right where it broke I put that cable in in 3 minutes works fine
