L245DT info

Hi all, Have a friend with a L245DT (25 HP 4WD, locking diff) that I might buy. Think its a 1987 vintage. I've driven it before and its a nice unit. It has no ROPS and that I would add if I buy. My concern is it has no power steering. It has no FEL but I would like a FEL but don't know how it would steer with a full bucket. Can it be retro'd for power steering? cost?Anything else I should know?

I had one of those before I purchased my L3010. It was a good little tractor. I did have problems with the rear axle bearings. Put 2 in before going to a heavier duty bearing. I think mine was a early 80's model. It only had 1400 hours and it didn't have a leak anyplace. I didn't have a FEL on that tractor so can't say how hard it would be to steer.

Thanks for the input Steve,
I have to give it a good look over and see what kind of deal we can make. Its in pretty good shape and I'm unsure of the year but thats not an issue if mechanically sound, hour meter shows 800 but that may not be true but in fact may be. If I put a FEL on I guess it would be power steering by "Arm-strong". I guess I could live with that if $$ is right. Any idea on $$ value?

I think I got around $5500 for mine. It was a 4wd and I sold a 5' land pride finsihing mower with it also. It was in good shape other than one front rim that got busted by the teenage son. It just cracked he didn't hit anything either...funny thing huh.
