L185DT air in hydro lines??

Ok so i was running my L185DT the other day...had to pull start it with my yukon and a friend...whole other story and problem...

but anyway the hydraulics started to get a little jetly like there was air in the lines or something is that the problem? If it is the problem can I just dump a few more gallons in and let it run through or do I need to do something special??

I don't understand where to tow a tractor to start it would allow air to get into the hydraulic lines.

You talked about the tow job, did somebody turn it over backwards? They are self priming!!!!!

I agree the pull starting was a whole other problem - most likely unrelated to air in the hydraulics. Air can get in if the oil level is low - but it has to be very low. Does this machine have any visible leaks or wet spots on the outside? If so it's possible the level is low enough. The other thing that can cause cavitation is a clogged filter on the hydraulic system (it's on the suction side). Check the level - and add oil if it's low. But be ready to drain it all out if it's really a clogged screen.

yeah i was in no way sayin that pull starting the tractor was what caused the hydro problem
there is a small leak on the vlaves for the loader so it is very likely the level is low enough to starve the system of oil
my question is is if the level is that low can i just dump in more oil and fire it up or do I need to/can I do someting about the air in the lines?

They should purge the air out simply by raising and lowering the loader or three point hitch.
