L110 gas coming out front exhaust

Hi, my L110 was having trouble we replaced oil, oil filter, gas filter, air filter, spark plug, but then today I noticed it will crank but not start and at the very front where the exaust pipe goes into an aluminum pan underneath the spark plug, there is gas spirting out from a square vent in the front of this aluminum pan. Does anyone have any idea what this could caused from?

Could be your fuel pump has a ruptured diaphram. If so there is a fire hazard if it starts and runs. Check the fuel pump to see if that is where it is comming from. The pump may have a plastic diverter tube that routs the gas past the muffler or it might just be comming out of the bottom of the fuel pump and falling on the muffler. The fix is a new fuel pump if that is where the gas is comming from.. Ruptured fuel pumps are caused by a plugged vent hole in the gas cap.

Nan, you could just have a severe case of flooding. If the raw fuel isn't burned in the cylinders, it will collect in the muffler and eventually drain out onto the deflector pan. I would pull a spark plug and see if it was really wet. If it is, you probably have a float problem in your carburetor that is keeping the needle valve from metering/filling the float chamber with the correct amount of fuel. The fuel will just overflow and be sucked into the intake and down into and through the cylinders. That could be the reason it was starting to run rough before and why all the servicing things you did would not improve the problem. Trash in float chambers and valves is a common problem. Most times it does not come through a filter, but "grows" in the carb during winter storage or other times of inactivity. It could also be rubber or plastic parts degraded and dissolved by ethanol in gasoline.

If you pull a spark plug and it is wet, it's time to tear into the carb and find the problem.
