Tractor
John Deere 4520,
Using the tractor yesterday the clutch quit. There was no prior problem and normal use is when starting and quick stopping with brakes. The GST function still is working and can use tractor.
The foot pedel has spring tension, lever into clutch housing is moving. There is no pressure as if the yoke is seperated from throw out bearing.
Any suggestions on what to look for. Or what to look for when seperating the engine from the transmission? Repair book looks as if normal type repair.

I don't know if L3600 and L3300 shared clutch designs but if they did...

On the early 3300 GST's there was a tsb (and extended warranty) for premature clutch failures (I think units with less than 400 hours). I've heard the parts failed early especially if you "abused" the clutch when filling the bucket. When it breaks the upgraded parts are VERY expensive. I'm approaching 1000 hours with no clutch problems.

Ken,
Check to see if you have any wires off.

Thanks Hans2 and Jerry G The L3600 is long out of Warrenty and 1450 hours of wear time. Problem is the disconnect with clutch lever inside housing and pressure plate believe the yoke is not forcing the bearing forward to loosen spring tension on pressure plate. Jerry see no electrical connection for this condition.
Looks like excess of $350.00 just for parts.
Not counting the renting of another tractor waiting for parts.

Your L3600 is the same as my L4200GST, Check the Clutch lever (11) in the WSM… It is keyed to the release fork (9). It may be loose and just turning instead of rotating the release fork into the release hub (7). See attached. KennyV.

Thanks for the diagram of Cluth assembly will wash the cow manure off to check this.
Nothing like a thick undercoating to hide problems.
Building a new correll to load the cows and it has been messy to work around the old correll. Who ever invented Wellies needs a metal.

I was not having any noticable problems, mower was released & up, frontend loader was up, but suddenly would not go into gear to back up, nor go forward. I can put the lever in gear & let out the clutch with no results.
Any ideas?
