depends on condition of it but i would say thats really expensive. over here in the UK i picked one up for $650, private seller - not dealer, and that was in a good condition.
from my (very limited so far) experience with the machine then seem to be good at both redding and raking although in my opinion they take a LOT of adjusting so they don't leave hardy any grass on the ground. to be perfectly honest i think i may sell up at the end of this season and go back to having just a trailed 4 basket tedder and a 8 wheel v-rake as i don't see it to be as good as just having a rake and tedder separate - then i can get both machines working together instead of just one machine and it taking twice as long.
If you do look/have looked id say to make sure you check inside the bearings on the rotors just by popping the caps off and making sure there isn't loads of crud in there and its not rusted - when i bought mine the guy said it was working but got it home and tried to turn it and couldn't - was a simple fix as i just had to clean this out but could have been a lot worse. also do what i didn't do, and thats just check everything turns. ask the guy to lift it u[ and even just turn it by hand if not on the PTO - just make sure all works!!
Best of luck and let us know if you purchase
