Kubota ZD326 or Ferris 4500 ZTR ??

I have been looking at the new Kubota 326 pro with the 26hp diesel engine with 60 inch cut and the Ferris 4500 model with the 28Hp cat.diesel 61 inch cut.I have been told by the sales people to stay with the twin hydro and two wheel motors on the ferris.How does the Kubota 326 pro stack up againest the ferris.I have been quoted $10,700 for the kubota and $13,725 for the Ferris.Thanks for any information.coobie

I'm partial to the Kubota in that comparision. The Ferris is a good brand but not that good if both were the same price.

Consider the suspension on the Ferris. That's a feature the Kubotas don't have.

IMHO, if you go with the Cat Diesel, you should consider the 72" deck.

On the suspension, I like it to a degree as we've sold thousands of them being their first dealer and involved with them before they introduced them. Sometimes a bigger tire might not fall into as many holes as a smaller one.

As far as a machine, the Kubota is quality above the Ferris.

As for the engine, Kubota has a proven engine, day in and day out...but nothing runs like a Cat..... They are bullet-proof.

All in all, you did well....... You'll be pleased with the orange machine.

I sell them both, and I would agree that the Kubota drive system is way better than what Ferris (or anyone else) is offering. The suspension is the sole reason we carry Ferris, it does work. If your ground is so rought that you must have it, buy Ferris. Otherewise your getting a better machine for the money with the Kubota.

I mowed tonight for the first time with the new kubota 326 pro.here are my observations,pros-very heavy duty deck,nice seat,good controls,great engine,and mows very nice to boot.The only con I can find is that the ride is rougher than my old 2004 ferris I had with independant suspension.All in all the kubota 326 is quality ZTR.coobie

Check your rear tires air pressure. If they are at the maximum recommended then drop them to about one half of that and then check the ride! The fronts are flat free!

I'll normally pick the home team in any game and the kubota is definitely in home court when it comes to the small diesels! Cat has done well with the perkins line of engines but knowing the noise levels of both engines well, I'll take the Kubota!
