Just bought a used ZD323, with the 60 inch deck, I went to change the oil and filter and my manual called for 3.7 qts, I put in the 3.7 qts and the oil came up about halfway on the dipstick. After it was all said and done it held about 4qts and 4 ounces. I did not know this was normal or not, thanks.

Not unusual. I had a BX 2200 and serviced 2 others for friends. Everyone held a different amount of oil.

Could the 3.7 qts be without filter change? I only have 25 hrs on mine, so I haven't done the oil yet.
