Kubota Water Pump Aftermarket, Your Thoughts.

So the water pump seized up on my little wheel loader. Kubota V2203 Engine. I heard it coming a while back ,and today was the day. Cab filled with smoke from the belt.

I have not priced it at the dealer yet, but they can be had for forty five bucks and free shipping out of China, on E-Bay. The dealers price may make up my mind.

Get's me to thinking, why all these water pumps for sale, when it's really just a bearing?

Yes a OEM Kubota pump.

The water pump on the Kubota D640 engine of my backhoe has some play in it. I took the pump off some time ago to see if it was serviceable but it wasn't. Everything is press really hard together and I'm pretty sure if I insisted more, I would have broke the pump. The impeller on that pump is cast iron, which is even more fragile when applying forces in the wrong direction.

EDIT: I didn't have a hydraulic press at the time which make that try even more prone to failure.

Thanks. Saw one on Amazon for thirty bucks US, and in Canada $185 plus $45.00 shipping. Boy, prices are all over the map. Sure is nice to need something that isn't a problem finding for a change.

Dealer wanted about 180 CDN with gasket. If it wasn't for the aftermarket, that would probably be a thousand!

Friend with Canadian Amazon Prime can get one(Aftermarket) for about 80 CDN.

Got it from an apparently great place in Jersey (Kumar Bros) (Aftermarket) for $30.00 USD! Gasket included, Toll Free Number, they answer their phones AND FREE SHIPPING Stateside!

I spent that on nine pieces of fried chicken, a small salad and some potatoe wedges, the other day!

I get things from China often, and the failure rate on products is as high as 20%.

Go 100% Kubota, you get a warranty that you will not get from China. You get a part that will fit and no guarantees the one from China will fit.
From China, you may end up doing the job twice and still buy the OEM one anyway.

This is a no brainer buy OEM

I get stuff all the time from China. When something doesn't work, there is no one to talk to but you do get your money back eventually. Sometimes not worth the cost in time.

I figured this was a US company and I could pick up the phone and call them. They can't be selling garbage, otherwise I doubt they would still be in business. I could be wrong.

I have bought some serious, no quality control, MOPAR OEM junk too! It would piss me off terrible to do this job twice.

I'm also guessing that if Kubota has to come down so far in their price on this item, that the possiblity exists that they might have cut some corners too.

If the pump isn't to hard to change why not risk the money on a Chinese pump. Personally I would.

I split my b8200 to do the ring gear. I'm putting a Chinese starter on it as well as using Kumar bros fuel filters. I'm also putting a Chinese clutch and pressure plate in it.
