Kubota vs. MF

Made a trip out to the county fair this evening. It's the only time you can see five or six different tractors brands in the area. Got a price on a MF GC2310TLB with FEL and BH for $15,600. A Kubota BX2400 setup the same was over $17,000. The MF dealer is from a town about 60 miles north of where I live, but he offered to bring the machine down so I could try it out on my land any time. Also looked at a NH TZ22DA, but no one was around to talk with.

Overall, I think I liked the feel of the MF better and I know I preferred the one pedal HST over the two pedals on the Kubota.

Both manufactures are offering similar 0% financing.

All three are good machines. Trust your instincts and go with the one you like the best. Don't forget you'll need support for your new tractor, too. So factor the dealer support into your decision.

I too tried out both the Kubota and the MF. Although I was looking at the BX22350 and MF GC2300 (same size as you're looking at, but not the Loader/Backhoe combination.

I bought the Massey. I liked the feel of the 1 pedal, and plus the metal hood, fenders, etc. The Kubota hood to me was akward as well. But both are awesome machines...Pick which one you feel the most comfortable on!

In the Albany, NY area I found the BX24 for $14,999 and the GC2310 for $16,500. Both have the single hydrostatic transmission control pedal.

The JD 2305 is nice, but uses two pedals (you can get used to anything) and cannot be mounted with a backhoe - local dealer at $12,500.

Personally, I see red coming here. I like the dealer better.

The Deere 2305 can be mounted with a backhoe. Woods makes a very nice backhoe that is comparable to any in this tractors size. You can even change the Deere seat to a swivel seat.

As far as the JD 2305 goes, I did park by butt on one of those at the fair also. No prices were posted on the JD's and the dealer rep that was on site was busy with a fellow looking at one of the BIG tractors. I certainly liked the looks of the 2305.

I have decided this is the size range that will suit me best. I realize this is the "do things slower" size, but I know any of them will be faster than my pick, shovel and rock bar. Getting a MMM will mean I can sell my Wheelhorse, have one less machine to keep up and free up room in the garage for a machine in this size range. A backhoe is one of those things I could really use, but can also get along without. The FEL and a box blade are my only real "must have" items. I think a tooth bar would be a real plus for my intended use. Also for some reason I seem to favor folding ROPS. I guess it just seems like a plus. (Actually just having a ROPS is a major plus to me!)

What I need to do is get serious and get to all the dealers so I can try the machines to see what really feels right and talk some serious pricing.

Yes, a toothbar is definitely one of those things you will appreciate. If you do ANY digging at all, or scraping, brush popping etc., it is invaluable. I wish I had to the foresight to add one when I bought my tractor, instead of getting it 6 months later.
