Kubota UDT fluid question

At my local Tractor Supply store they have a premium universal hydraulic fluid with a brand name of TraveLLer. It clearly states on the label that it is compatable with, and can be used in place of Kubota trans-hydraulic, and UDT fluid. They sell the 5 gallon size for $35 and the 2 gallon for $16.

My local Kubota dealer sells Kubota UDT for $85 for the 5 gallon size.

Since my Kubota takes 42 quarts I would like to know if any Kubota owners use the Tractor Supply brand, and if their are any risks in using it?

i use it in my old kubota - on another orange tractor forum they talk about using it as well as the stuff from wally world
with no issues.

I've been using the premium in most of my equipment for some time. It is better to do a complete drain and refill the first time, as some fluids use different additives.

I've heard the additives aren't always compatible, but couldn't say for sure. Also don't have to get every bit out (ie cylinders, what won't drain, etc), just most of it.

When on sale, that stuff can be had for $30 or with 20% (IIRC) more free.

I just changed the oil out on my B2630. I finally decided on the Phillips HG which states on the back panel that it is compatible with Kubota UDT. The Travellers was $30 for 5 gallons the Phillips HG $50 for 5 gallons and $22 a gallon for Kubota UDT.

I have used TSC premium Traveler fluid for years in my Kubota Grand L4200 GST.
Works great and every spring they have 6 gallon pails for $34.00. I use 11+ gallons every change. KennyV

welcome to TBN... have used Traveler with no problems, as have others.
