I have a Kubota FL1021C Tiller. I don't have the pto shaft section that connects to the tractor pto. I do have the clutched section that is hooked up to the tiller gearbox.
My friendly Kubota dealer is telling me that I'll have to order the complete shaft which includes the clutch for the low low price of $850! I said BULL#$*%!! I'll fabricate something if I have to. I grew up poor and ain't far from it now, I can do a lot of things with pert near nothing.
But in the interest of being suave and appearing to be a refined individual I'd rather just buy the manufactured section of the shaft that I need.
It doesn't have to be new but I would like for it to be the right part.
I've searched on this site and the almighty Google and I can't find it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Where are you located? There used to be a driveshaft shop in Dallas, that could make whatever you needed. I'm sure if there is one in a town near you, you could take the piece you have and tell them what you need and they could fix you right up (for a lot cheaper than $850). Good luck.

Unless Kubota uses a proprietary shaft, what you need is sold in most farm stores. In some cases however, welding may be required. If no farm stores are convenient to your area, talk to these folks: PTO SHAFTS/ACCESSORIES Available at Agri Supply® where we have something for everyone

If the Kubota shaft is in fact proprietary, you can still buy the entire assembly - to include clutch - for under $200 delivered: ASC # 45905

Tractor Supply Co (TSC) has pto shafts that you can use for your tiller. I have a 21-hp (engine) Kubota B7510HST and a used Yanmar RS-1200 tiller (48" wide) that I hook up using a TSC shaft.

The shaft cost about $100. Since that Yanmar tiller doesn't have shear pins, I had to buy a slip clutch (the yellow thing with the springs in the last photo) that cost about $65. Not advisable to run a rototiller without shear pins or a slip clutch.

To get the slip clutch to fit without rubbing on the tiller sheet metal, I had to get a shaft extension ($15) to attach to the tiller gearbox input shaft. I also had to use the 35" -long lower lift arms from my MF-135 tractor in place of the short 26" Kubota arms to get everything to fit. You can buy these longer lift arms for about $25 each if you need them and don't have a pair handy.

The TSC pto shaft is the shortest one they sell. I had to cut it to length to fit between the tractor and the slip clutch.

I've used the tiller on my veg garden and to till the new lawn area around my house. To make it easier on the tiller, I plowed the ground with my middle buster (TSC, $140) before hitting it with the rototiller. No problem with the tiller even in the patches of excessively gravely ground around my place.

$850 is a ripoff.
