Hi Guys,
hoping to find someone who can offer some input on my 2012 Kubota Rear Window RE- install.
I hit a branch and my rear window 'popped out'. it did not break, but the window came out along with the gasket.
both are undamaged and intact. it simply popped out. No damage to the window frame/lip on the machine the window and gasket fit into also.

Now the hard part....I can't seem to get the thing back into the machine. There is a metal edge in the machine that the gasket fits into/over and then there is an edge that the window slips into in the gasket. Additionally, there is a small slot, that I believe used to have (I bought the machine used) that had a ring w/ cord of some sort fed around that from what I've read and can tell, was used for emergency escape hatch ...pull the ring/cord and the window will pop out so you can get out.

I've tried everything with 3 sets of hands and a lot of cuss words! ;)

1. we soaped up the gasket, window and edge and tried putting the glass and gasket together and then tried fitting the window to the machine....
2. we've tried putting the gasket on the machine first and then getting the window to fit to the gasket....
3. I've tried the above with having a piece of rope inserted into the gasket slot and pulling the rope out as the window tries to go in.....
4. I've tried having a person on each side w/ small screw drivers and hooks to fit the window into gasket and pull the gasket lip out and work around the edges.....its simply too tight of a fit and if you dont have the window exactly fit into the opening you can't push/pull/slip/slid it into place.......so NO LUCK on any of it.

not much info on youtube or the web about this particular re-install either. mostly just car windshields which I believe has more play in it.

There must be a trick to getting this window to install back into the machine! Any and all suggested will be much appreciated.
thank you!!

I would guess that after the gasket is re-installed - there is some sort of tool used to get the glass into the gasket. I worked for a company where we built LARGE air handling units. Every door had a glass "port hole" window. Once the gasket was cut and installed - we used soapy water on the gasket and had a very special "gasket tool" to get the glass into the gasket. Without this tool - no joy.

I 've used insulated stranded wire rather than string with success. I lube the gasket with a non grit waterless hand cleaner.
Also lube the window opening.
I put the wire around and stop with both wire ends at the bottom. Have someone on the outside set the window gasket assembly, bottom gasket in place.
Pull the wires while person(s) on out side apply pressure following the wire as it's pulled on the inside.

I hold one wire and pull the other.

I have had success with a Gator windshield by doing this;
Clean the gasket well and put it into the frame, then put the glass into the gasket starting with a bottom corner.
A cotter pin removal tool is my favorite tool for this, along with soapy water.
If you can, let a fan blow on it over night so the soapy water will evaporate and avoid any roughhousing for a while.

When I had to replace the back glass on my Bobcat. I had to remove the emergency exit spline from the gasket to make it go in easier. Then reinsert it. Had I had help I could have left it in.
Like others said soapy water and just gradually work it back in.
