I'm not sure if it's my imagination, but since I changed my transmission oil on my B7800 with Super UDT, my FEL and rear box scraper seem to operate slower????????????? Anyone else had this experiance? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Make sure the speed valve on the hydraulics is full open (I assume you have one). On my B2910 it is just below the operator's seat.

A while ago mine got turned half way shut and I just about went nuts trying to figure out why everything was working in slow motion!

Yes I have the valve. It only controls the downward speed of the rear blade by restricting the bleed off of the fluid, not the upward movement. This is the problem. The rear blade and the front FEL seem slow on the upward movement, not the downward movement. There is no air in the system and I noticed the problem the first time I used the tractor after changing the fluid.

When I changed the hydraulic fluids on my B2400, it took several hours to get all the air out. The 3 pt wouldn't lift all the way up and the FEL was a bit jerky. But after usage in hot conditions, things returned to normal.

Once back to normal, I noticed that in very cold temps, the super udt actually performed much better than the regular udt oil.

I've ran the tractor grading about three hours since I changed the oil with no change. The day time temps around here have been about 55 to 60 lately. I am an avid beliver in synthitics. That is why I used super UDT.

There is another valve for cutting off the hydraulic feed to the FEL, at least on mine, near the lower part of the engine. Maybe you have something similar that could have been bumped during the fluid change???

You've got low temps (as far as the hydraulic fluid is concerned), and if you're just grading (****-u-ming just picking up and dropping a rear implement) you probably aren't exercising the system all that much. Betcha you've got air in the system that will take time to work out. A previous poster mentioned higher temperatures to really work the air out and I'm guessing it was more like 80 or 90 degrees than 60.

Don't know about valves for the front hydraulics - mine doesn't have them. If you have the back valve all the way open (and I'd recommend that you do so until you work the kinks out), it should take care of itself in time, I believe...
