Not sure where this belongs but I got a call from my local dealer informing me that I had won a draw that I had entered for a Kubota RTV....turns out that I did not win the RTV but instead a Kubota shop vac. Head down to the dealer to pick up 'prize' and take shop vacuum home. Take the vac out of the box and notice the immediate lack of quality as stickers were already peeling off. Vacuum performance and quality was overall very bad and will probably give it away if anyone will take it. Hope Kubota sticks to building tractors and not domestic appliances....

Kubota didn't make it. They just bought some cheap consolation prizes for the ones that would loose the RTV. At least you got something for entering the drawing. It's a shame Kubota would let their name on it if it's poor quality. Cheap China made consolation prize.

Yep. Cheap, crappy, Chinese junk. Not good for Kubota's image.

Its not just that crappy china vac that kubota plastered (whored?) their name out on, but everything from Tool chests to tape measures to steering wheel spinners. All out of china, all made by somebody else.

At least most of the spinner looks quality, albeit the logo fades very fast (ask 4shorts)

At least if Stihl sticks their name on a Shop Vac, its a quality, euro made unit.

Was the grand prize a one year supply of 4 ounce silicone tubes by chance?

Hey I can tell you all about those!

The first one I had (came installed from dealer) constantly slipped around, so I constantly tightened it. Well it finally stripped the nuts out after about a years use. I casually mentioned it to my dealer and he gave me another, free! It faded in a matter of two months, but it stays put!

I asked my dealer about it. Apparently they arent available up here (4shorts mentioned that) but I figured Id confirm.

They are available as a Speeco. I dont know if Speeco is the OEM or not. Glad you got a good one, I'll likely end up with a Speeco. Hopefully it will stay put. At least with the black centre it shouldn't fade!

Those seem to be for thin steering wheels. I bought mine from HD.

The new one came with some rubber strips to put between the wheel and spinner to make up for the wheel being so skinny. I used them and they seem to make a difference.

From the picture I'd say either Speedco is the OEM or they buy them from the same place Kubota does. It looks identical minus the center logo.

Sorry guys and 4shorts the Kubota knob is crap, big cheap and bulky. I use the Edson Power Knob Pro series, best 80 bucks I spent on my tractor. All stainless steel with inner and outer ball bearings, with very minimal mounting, just one thin stainless steel band on the wheel no bolts or nuts showing. The only item I kept from my B3030, Hey I wasn't going to spend 80 bucks again.

Stainless Knob is hand polished to a mirror finish
Marine grade 316 stainless steel construction
Ideal for single or twin engine vessels.
Comfortable ergonomic design
Twin Races of super Smooth Delrin ball bearings
Fast turning and rapid response
Fits all wheel rams from 5/8" inch to 1 1/8" inch diameter.
Available in Strap-on or bolt-on (5/16" x 18)
Fits all Edson Power Wheels
25 Year Warranty
Ideal lawn tractors & golf carts too!
Not for use on street legal vehicles
