Are there such things? If so - are they any good? Any idea on cost or availability?

I'd like to get a set for my BX ...

Patrick, of course there are manuals. Kubota calls the service manual a "Workshop Manual" (my B2710 manual came in 3-ring loose leaf form - $88) and in my opinion, you also very much need the parts manual or "Illustrated Parts List" to go with it (punched for a 3-ring binder, but is a bound book - $38). I'm sure any dealer could order them for you. I ordered mine from Carver Equipment.

I have also seen them listed on EBay under Kubota. Dont know if you are interested in the auction option.

Thanks Bird - I'll order a set. I'm a few hours over my recommended service time and have been dithering about whether I want to do the first service myself or not.

Must be that engineering schooling ... got to have manuals.

To answer your question....the Service Manuals (Workshop Manual) seem to be pretty comprehensive. I'm like you...many of the the repairs you can do yourself, if you are up to it. I negotiated that the dealer 'throw in' the manuals along with a complete set of filters when I bought my L35. He said he hasn't ever had a customer ask for 'em. /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif Strange

Good for you.

Good Luck,

Patrick,

I can't speak for the BX, but for the B2410 the 50-hour service was described pretty completely in the Owner's manual. (The only problem is they tend to spread out information in a few different places). The locations of each of the HST and engine oil drain plugs were shown, along with the filters and the HST suction line strainer.

I intend to buy the Shop manual and Parts manual for my tractor at some point, but I think you may not need them just to do the 50-hour service.

Shouldn't there be some place on the internet we could go to get a soft copy of these manuals. Everyone else in the universe is using the internet to put their manuals, etc. out there for their buyers.

Spud,

It would be nice to see Kubota put copies of the Owners Manuals for the various tractors and loaders on-line, similar to what is done by LandPride, Bush Hog, etc. I wouldn't expect them to put up the shop and parts manuals though, since they are much bigger, since not everybody 'needs' them, and since Kubota probably makes a decent profit on selling them. Either way its okay by me - the industry isn't exactly at the cutting edge of using the internet to interact with customers yet.

My first choice for improvement in Kubota manuals would be revisions to update the fluid specs (like engine oil) to today's standards, and a cross-reference to other hydraulic fluids instead of the contradictory references to UDT and/or Super UDT.

I agree, Rob, but it looks like they're going the other direction. My '95 B7100 owner's manual listed 6 or 8 other hydraulic oils by brand name.
