Hello, I have a Kubota RTV1100 with 150 hours on it. I'm getting ready to change the oil in this unit again. I am currently running 15W-40 oil in this engine & would like to switch to an oil weight that I can run year round. The Kubota manual calls out 10w-30 for year round use but it doesn't show anything suggested to use in really hot temps.
Can I safely run 0w-40 synthetic diesel oil to run in this engine even though it doesn't list this as a suggested weight? Or does the 30w in 10w-30 protect enough. I notice sometimes it takes a few seconds for the oil light to go out when I'm running 15w-40. I would prefer the protection of the 40w if I can do that.
I can see temps anywhere from single digits to triple digits. Any suggestions or thoughts? Thanks.
