Kubota RTV 900 problems?

Greetings,

I am in the market for a UTV and have almost decided to pull the trigger on the RTV 900.

I have some lingering doubts based on problems I have seen discussed here and in other fora. Specifically, have the shifting and noisy drive shaft problems been ironed out in the newest model?

I just bought a used rtv900 and love it. I am so glad I bought it over the Polaris. And I'm glad I bought a used one because they can get pretty dirty and scratched up. I didn't feel like spending 12,000 bucks and having it look all beat up in 6 months. I'm glad I went with the utility over speed racer, I love the hydraulic dump bed works great. Every UTV has it's problems. Yeah the shifting is a little sticky but it's not that big of a deal.They have plenty a power too, I say get the RTV900, just my 2 cents.

From what I have read the noisy drive shaft and shifting problems have been worked out on the newer 2008-2009 models.I love my 2006 RTV 900,yes it had some shifting problems and drive shaft problems at first but I have them corrected now.If you are looking at buying a good work horse buy the Kubota RTV.coobie

We have the first year model.

No issues so far. If it noisy, we have grown use to it, as we have nothing to compare it too. Same with the shifting. Since we have mostly level land, this is not an issue.

Overall, we are very pleased with it. It is the most used vehicle on our farm, and has a fun factor for the kids.

One of the better vehicle purchases we have made.

I think the sticky shifting issue has to do with the linkage.

I have one and it is great. We use it every day to carry hay. It always starts, sips fuel and goes anywhere. It won't be the fastest machine, but they are really strong. The only problem I had was the fuel tank top was hard to remove. Kubota took care of that with a new tank and lid.

Thanks to all who responded to my questions.

I bought an RTV 900 (Worksite with Worksite tires). I've put just five hours on the meter, but I'm more than pleased so far.

Most of the shifting issues on these transmissions can be traced to a inproperly adjusted or broken pressure release valve on the unit. Simple and easy fix.

Is there somewhere that I can read about this fix?
